Description

The BlackHel Double is formed by two separate events: the Blackwater Canyon Half Marathon and the Helvetia 10K Mountain Run. They happen the Saturday and Sunday of the second full weekend in September. This is also the Helvetia Community Fair weekend. If you run both runs, you will have run The BlackHel Double. Finishers get a special recognition at the finish of the run on Sunday in Helvetia.

There is no direct sign up for The Double! Rather, just sign up for both races independently. We will collate the results and standings for Doublers, so it is important that you sign up with the same name for both constituent runs.

Note that in 2024 the BCHM was not held due to land access troubles, but the sister-race of the Tygart Valley Half Marathon took its place as the first half of The Double. Since the TVHM is a flat out-and-back on a totally different course, the times from that year are not candidates for BHD course records.
