Boyne City Independence Day Run - On the Scenic Shores of Lake Charlevoix. A BIG announcement for this year’s race! The 10K Run event is being replaced with a 5 Mile Run event! There are many reasons for this change with improvements in course and time management. A shorter run = more time to prepare for the parade!

Come for the race, stay for the parade and a day filled with family fun, music, activities, games and cap off your evening with an amazing Fireworks Show as part of the Boyne City 4th of July Festival!

A small town race done in a BIG way with as many as 1,200 participants in recent years, the Boyne City Independence Day run is a low cost and family fun event offering professionally timed 5 Mile and 2 Mile events. Proceeds from the event go toward the amazing fireworks show that we strongly suggest participants stick around for!

Please note that finisher medals and age group awards will not be a part of this year’s event. With the current tariffs, medal and award prices have dramatically increased. In order to keep this fundraiser event for the Boyne City Fireworks affordable for families, the decision was made to exclude these items for 2025. We hope for the return of finisher medals and age group awards in 2026.
