The South Portland SpringFest Community Road Race, "The Unstoppable Gnome," is a community-focused event encouraging fitness and local engagement. Join us for a casual, feel-good one-mile loop through the heart of Knightville! This year, we're keeping things simple, fun, and focused on community—so lace up your sneakers and come walk, jog, or run with us.

This year’s event will be an untimed fun run—no bibs or chips, just good vibes. We decided to ease into hosting a road race and keep the focus on the SpringFest message of celebrating our community and being together. Whether you’re getting in a jog, pushing a stroller, or walking with friends, you’re welcome here!

(*We had previously announced the race as being timed. Due to lower-than-expected early registrations, we decided not to add the timing expense this time around.)

The 2025 event will feature:

• 1-mile for all levels, especially kids (accompanied by an adult) to run, walk, or stroll.
• 3-mile race for individual runners. 

Special Offer for Kids: The first 50 kids to register (through 8th grade) will participate for free! This is a great opportunity for young members of the South Portland community (and the local area) to join the fun at no cost.

T-Shirt for All Pre-Registered Runners: All preregistered runners will receive a limited-edition Unstoppable Gnome T-shirt! This shirt will feature the fun and festive Unstoppable Gnome design, making it a great keepsake from the event.

Sign up early to claim your free entry (for eligible kids) and secure your special race shirt! Let’s run, walk, and stroll together in the Unstoppable Gnome Fun Run! Whether you run, walk, roll, or stroll, this race celebrates community, well-being, and the arrival of spring. 100% of the race and SpringFest proceeds are donated to the South Portland community through grants and donations to community nonprofit organizations. 

Participants are encouraged to wear traditional gnome attire, adding a fun and festive element to the race and festival.
