Join us for our annual Juneteenth Freedom Run/Walk. The event honors June 19, 1865, the date federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas to ensure all enslaved people were freed. The run/walk signifies the time between the Emancipation Proclamation signing and this historic date. This fun event is a great way to socialize, get some exercise, enjoy the outdoors, and learn about the history of Juneteenth. The freedom run/walk will be held on Saturday, June 21st at William Land Park starting at 8:00 a.m.
