ABOUT THIS ACTIVITY

Come out and race for a cause on October 21, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., at Edwin Warner Park for the Nashville Bar Association Young Lawyers Division’s 20th Annual DISCO Race Judicata. Proceeds from the race will benefit two local charities—Able Youth and Achilles International Nashville.  All runners/joggers/walkers are welcomed!

The race will begin at Shelter #9 on a flat out-and-back course along the Harpeth River Greenway. Both courses are USATF certified. Online registration ($40) for the 5K and 10K is open until Thursday, October 19, at 11:59 p.m. Late registration ($50) is available at packet pickup* and on race day beginning at 7:00 a.m.

A wheelchair start for both races will begin at 8:25 a.m., and runners will start at 8:30 a.m. Please note that race shirts are guaranteed only to participants that register online while supplies last.  Additionally, based on feedback from prior years, we recommend ordering a size up on your race shirt if you're between sizes. EVENT DETAILS & SCHEDULE

WHEN: Both races will have a wheelchair start at 8:25 a.m. Runners for both races will start at 8:30 a.m.

WHERE: The 5k and 10k races will start from Shelter #9 in Edwin Warner Park. Both courses are USATF certified.

HOW DO I REGISTER? Online registration for the 5K and 10K is available for $40 until October 19. Late online registration is $50 and is available until October 20 at 11:59 p.m. In-person registration is $50 and will be available at packet pickup* and on race day beginning at 7:00 a.m.

TEAM OPTION: Law firm teams of three runners may register for the 5K. Teams will not be permitted to register on race day. Team names and rosters must be provided via email to Quynh-Anh Kibler no later than Thursday, October 19, at 12:00 p.m. (noon).

 

*PACKET PICKUP: Early packet pickup is Friday, October 20, from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Exchange Running Collective, 966 Woodland Street, Nashville, TN 37206. Packets will also be available on race day beginning at 7:00 a.m.

 

5K/10K AWARDS: Awards will be given in the following categories for both the 5K and 10K races:

• Top 3 Overall (male, female)
• These winners will each receive a gavel and a gift card.
• Top 3 Masters (40+) (male, female) 
• A winner of the Top 3 Overall category is ineligible for this Top 3 Masters category.
• These winners will each receive a gavel and a gift card.
• Top 3 Beneficiaries (handcycle, wheelchair push rim, racing chair, visually impaired/blind, ambulatory disabled) (male, female)
• These winners will each receive a gavel and a gift card.
• Top 3 Attorneys (male, female)
• A winner of the Top 3 Overall category IS also eligible for the Top 3 Attorneys category provided the winner is a licensed attorney. 
• These winners will receive a gavel (but no gift card).  In other words, a winner of both the Top 3 Overall and Top 3 Attorneys categories will receive 2 gavels, but the winner will receive only 1 gift card.

5K-only award:

• Fastest Law Firm (three-person team based on combined time; each team member must sign up for the 5K race)
• The winning law firm will have its name engraved on a trophy for this year's event and gets to keep the trophy until the next Race Judicata event.
