Welcome to the Ernestine Jones Memorial Annual 5K Walk/Run, an event that honors the enduring legacy of Ernestine Jones, a beacon of love and community support. Following her passing in July 2015, just shy of her 90th birthday, we initiated this event in August 2016 as a tribute to her compassionate spirit and to find solace in her loss.

Throughout the years, except for a brief pause during the Covid epidemic, this event has been a symbol of resilience and community spirit. We are proud to have supported local organizations like Bridging the Gap, Seniors on the Move, where she was an active and passionate member, Hope Ministries of Senatobia, Tate County Genealogical Society, and St. Jude Children's Hospital of Memphis. 

Ernestine lived by the principle of open-hearted generosity, always ready to lend a hand, guided by the belief that kindness extended to others would be returned when most needed. This event is more than just a race; it is a celebration of fellowship, a commitment to giving back, and an opportunity to enjoy the unity of our community.
