In honor of National Take Down Tobacco Day of Action, formally known as Kick Butts Day, the TRACC Coalition's KEYS Alliance Youth Group is hosting a Color Run called Run Your Butts Off. This is a fun and healthy way to come out and support our youth in combating tobacco in our community. Registration will begin at 8:30am, and the run will start at 9am. This event will be held at the Ponchatoula Area Recreation District 1. This is a community awareness event that will publicize the dangers of tobacco use and how we can combat tobacco use in our community. Our KEYS Alliance members have taken a stand to be tobacco, alcohol, and drug free and bring awareness and advocate for a healthier Tangipahoa Parish. Aside from the run, there will be games, statistics and information about tobacco use posted throughout the event as well as a pledge wall for community members to pledge to be tobacco free. This event is open to all ages. The powder color used is safe and washes out easily. The event and run is free for anyone who wants to participate, however to be recognized as a numbered runner, qualify for race prizes, and receive a t-shirt we are asking for a minimum $15.00 donation. Funds collected for this event through donations will be used to further prevention initiatives, activities, and trainings for our KEYS Alliance Youth.
