It’s time again for the Annual APSO Power Run! Join the Alabama Power Service Organization and members of the Birmingham Community for this year's 5K event sponsoring the Boys and Girls Club of Central Alabama. The family friendly event will once again be held at Veteran’s Park in Hoover on May 13^th, 2023. There will be activities for children to enjoy as well as a ½ mile Kids Fun Run. We hope to see you there to run (or walk!) for a great cause.

Boys and Girls Club of Central Alabama

For more than 120 years the Boys & Girls Club of Central Alabama has positively impacted the lives of young people. Each one of our clubs offer fun and exciting programs that benefit the kids we serve. Our members stay busy with programs such as STEM, Art, Triple Play, Healthy Habits, and more. Our method behind all of the fun is our Formula for Impact— young people who need us most, plus outcome-driven club experiences helps our members achieve three outcomes: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character and Citizenship. Our Youth Development Professionals encourage our members to achieve these three outcomes by using our 5 Key Elements for Positive Youth Development which are: providing a fun and safe environment, establishing supportive relationships, creating opportunities and realistic expectations, and recognizing members for their achievements. Each day, we welcome more than 750 youth between the ages of six and 18 to our Clubs after school and more than 1,000 youth a day during the summer. The minute club members walk through our doors, they enter an environment of stability, consistency, and physical and emotional safety where they can learn, grow, and succeed.

 

Short Sleeve Tech Shirts

This year we are offering a short sleeve tech shirt to the first 150 registered 5k runners. To ensure that you get a shirt and the best possible price we ask that you register early
