And We Still Run

Sunday, February 23

Montclair, NJ

Official Website

Description

For the past four years people around the world, especially within the running community, have pledged to walk, jog or run 2.23 miles, symbolic of the day Ahmaud Arbery was gunned down while running on February 23, 2020.

Fleet Feet Montclair, Black Men Run and Brooks are joining together to host a 2.23 mile run to honor Arbery’s life and advocate for racial equality.

One hundred percent of registration fees and funds donated will support Black Men Run. The Black Men Run Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a mission of encouraging health and wellness among African American men by promoting a culture of running/jogging to stay fit, resulting in “A Healthy Brotherhood.”

We will meet at Nishuane Park at 8AM. Run and walk a 2.23 mile route that will end at Sankofa Cafe where coffee and cocoa will be covered by Brooks.

Join us as we run in solidarity, celebrate community, and continue the call for justice and equality.
