Fighting Hunger ~ Feeding Hope 5K & 1Mi. Run/Walk

We Invite you to join us for the 2nd Annual  "Fighting Hunger ~ Feeding Hope 5K /1M Health Walk!"  The race will be held Saturday morning, March 16th at 8:00 AM and will serve to raise funds in support of Community Resource Center of Chattooga County.

 

OUR MISSION: To acquire and distribute resource to bring relief to those in financial need in Chattooga County via the foodbank and to walk out the word of Jesus, "For I was hungry and you fed me, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me in."

Race Registration Fees:

*$25 5K Pre-Registration Entry Fee / $35 Day of Race
*$20 1M Run/Walk Entry Fee / $30 Day of Race

PLEASE NOTE: T-shirt size is Guaranteed if you REGISTER by WEDN., MARCH 6th.  (While registration will still remain open until Sun., March 10th, we simply cannot guarantee you get the shirt size you want beyond March 6th.)   Register EARLY!! 

WANT TO SUPPORT THE CAUSE but NOT RUN/WALK THE RACE??   Be 'Ghost Runner' and sign up that way.  No shirt, no problem.  DONATE to HELP.

Race Route / Start-Finish & Parking:

* The 5K Course is scenic and very fast, and meanders through a beautiful neighborhood of Summerville.

* The 5K will start and finish at the Community Resource Center gate turns right at Highland Ave.  Turns left onto 6th Ave., then left on Hwy 27.  It U-Turns at the 2mi. point at Maple Dr.  Turns right on E. Washington and right again on Highland before finishing at the Community Resource Center.

* The 1 Mile run will start and finish at the Community Resource Center. This will be an out-and-back course travelling along Highland Ave. and E. Washington.

Parking:

Limited Parking is available at the Community Resource Center.  Additional Parking is available at Dowdy Park which is approximately 3/4mi. away.

6:30 AM Race Day Registration Opens
7:45 AM Race Day Registration Closes
8:00 AM 5K Start Time

8:50 AM 1M Start Time
9:15 AM Awards Presentation

  Held at the Community Resource Center on Friday, March 15th from 10:00AM--12:00PM and 4:00PM - 6:00 PM

5K Awards:

Awards will be given to the following: 
     *Top 3 Overall Male and Top 3 Overall Female Winners
     *Top Masters Male and Top Masters Female Winners
     *Top 3 Male & Female in the following Age Categories: 14-Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Over

1M Awards:

Medals will be given to the following: 
     *Top 3 Overall Males and Top 3 Overall Females

Please note, this is a rain or shine event.

Professional Timing:

This race will be chip-timed by Wire2Wire Running, LLC using the latest RFID technology.  Results will be posted after the race at www.wire2wirerunning.com
