Club Kokomo Roadrunners and Palmer's Jewelry will be hosting the second annual Be a SHEro 5K Run/Walk on March 9, 2024, in Kokomo. The SHEro 5K is a  fundraiser and women's only race celebrating International Women’s Day (March 8th) while encouraging healthy activity in our community. We’re ready to make this a fun and empowering event.

Registration Costs: $20 until December 31st, 2023, $25 until February 11th, 2024, and $30 After February 12th, 2024 until Race Day. Sorry, but there are NO REFUNDS since this is a fundraising event to benefit our local domestic violence shelter.

Your Race Registration gets you:

  • Post-Race Party will include free post-race snacks (until supplies last), local food trucks, vendors, music, and fun! We encourage you to run or walk with friends and celebrate the sisterhood of women in our community.
  
  

All money remaining after the event costs are covered will be donated to the Family Service Association of Howard County Domestic Violence Shelter. In previous years we were able to donate just shy of $3000! We would like to exceed that level and continue to grow this celebration of Women!

Packet Pick Up & Kokomo Women's Expo

Early packet pick-up will be available on Friday, March, 9th At Grace United Methodist Church in Kokomo 6-8 PM. Packet pick-up will also be available on the day of the race at the registration table from 11:30-1:15 PM. This year our race will truly envelope the celebration of International Women's Day on Friday, March 8th. Local vendors, sponsors, and other businesses that invest in Women's mental and physical health will be present to celebrate our visitors and race participants. Beginning at 6:30 PM there will be a short International Women's Day presentation with some information about our race and the needs of our local domestic violence shelter that our event supports with a keynote speaker and a free yoga class. Be sure to stop by to pick up your race packet and gear up for race day.

Race Day Details

On-Site Registration will be available (please be prepared with Cash or Check payment) starting at 11:30 AM at Grace United Methodist Church. Be prepared to participate in Indiana's unpredictable Winter/Spring weather. Please participate based on the event you registered for. As an example, if you registered as a walker, please only walk for the entire race. Dressing up and creating fundraising groups is encouraged as we race in sisterhood for the benefit of local women in need. The race will start at 1:30 PM. Awards

Every Participant will receive a custom finisher medal and the chance to win one of the following age group awards for your Run or Walk category. 

Top Walker and Top Runner will receive a special piece of jewelry and small bouquet of roses.

Age group award winners will receive a pair of gemstone earrings and a single rose.
