We are incredibly honored to team up with Operation Underground Railroad for this beautiful 5K trail race! All ages and fitness levels welcome! April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month AND National Month of Hope. Children and youth who are sexually trafficked often have been victims of child abuse. We are working hard to do our part to raise awareness and help save as many kids as possible from being trafficked and sold into slavery. You can help and let human traffickers know, "Not on OUR watch!"
Other swag including shirts available as an add-on for additional purchase at time of registration.
In addition to a running division, we offer a rucking division. Rucking is walking with a weighted backpack/ruck on your back.
If competing for the top 1-3 places for male, female and non-binary, you must meet the minimum dry weight requirement inside your backpack/ruck before anything else, including food and water. We recommend a ruck plate of some sort but it's ultimately up to you. Other options for weight include dumbbells, sandbags, or weight plates. Weight vests and ruck plate carriers are allowed.
If not competing for the top 1-3 places, then the weight you carry is up to you.
The course runs mostly in Dimple Dell Regional Park. Most of the trail is dirt or wood chips while small portions that are used are paved. The race is professionally chip timed. The chips are attached to the back of your bib number. Bibs must be worn on the front of you in order to be accurately timed.
5K Route with a water station at 0.73 miles and 1.77 miles. There are bathrooms at the start and finish line.
Leashed dogs are OK for this race but they must stay on a leash the entire time.
There is plenty of free parking available in the lots next to the start line along S 700 E.
Awards for overall 1st-3rd place male, female and non-binary in both the running and rucking divisions. Rucking division weight requirements will be verified and checked at start and finish line. Only male, female and non-binary categories will be eligible for overall awards.
Age group awards for 1st-3rd place male and female in the running division only for the following age groupings:
Only male and female categories will be eligible for age group awards. Anyone placing top 3 overall will also not be eligible for age group awards (no double dipping).
Awards ceremony will be held once winners have crossed the finish line and their times have been validated.
We can't put on our races without the help of our amazing volunteers! Please consider signing up to volunteer your time on race morning with the race setup, during the race and post race teardown. All volunteers will receive a free entry to a future event. Volunteer registration available here.
