Jan. 4th & February 22nd begin and finish at the entrance to the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, Rest Stop at mile post 4, Chesapeake, VA 23323 and will be an out & back.  Start will be a chip start with everyone starting at 8:30.   

January 25th start line will be close to the Fort Monroe Community Center, 100 Stillwell Road,  Fort Monroe, VA 23651 which will be the sight of race day packet pickup.  The course will be one, two or three 5-mile loops around the fort’s waterfronts.  Finish line closure is based for each race date on a 15 minute per mile. 

Early starts for walkers and slow runners who are participating in the 20 mile only for Distance Series 3,  may be arranged by contacting [email protected]

After Race Parties:

Post race party for January 4th  and February 22nd will be at Tap It Local, 648 Grassfield Pkwy, #12, Chesapeake 23323  January 27th party is at Paradise Ocean Club, 490 Fenwick Road, Fort Monroe

Directions: 

Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, Trail Start,  Old Route 17 and George Washington Hwy, Chesapeake, VA 23323 just off Rt 17. GPS tracking is Rest Stop at Mile Post 4, Chesapeake, VA. Fort Monroe  packet pickup will be at the Ft. Monroe, Community Center, 100 Stillwell Road, Hampton, VA.  Start line is close by.                  

Inclement Weather:  The Race Director and the Tidewater Striders reserve the right to cancel or reschedule or adjust distances as needed in the interest of safety or access restrictions to the venue.  

Registration closes at 9:00 PM the Friday before each event.  There are no refunds allowed. You may pick up your race number & giveaway starting at 7:15 race morning until 8:20.  We will be at Running Etc., Hilltop location the Friday before each event starting at 4:00 to 6:00 PM.  

                           Distance Series 1 and 3 half and full distances are Striders Grand Prix. Distance Series 2 15 miler only is a Hampton Roads Super Grand Prix.
