"We're "Lookin' For a Cure" steps from the Pacific Ocean this year! Join A Cure in Sight and UCLA, in Santa Monica on Saturday September 28th, 8AM-11AM, to walk or run with us. We will be taking steps to find a cure for a rare eye cancer, ocular melanoma. Ocular Melanoma is estimated by the American Cancer Society to have roughly 3000 new cases each year nationwide. Here in Southern California, USC is hard at work to monitor and treat patients with Ocular Melanoma risks, or who are experiencing metastatic disease. Proceeds of the event will support research in Southern California so lets raise some big money! Bring your friends and family to the race day--all ages welcome to walk or run the course at Crescent Bay Park, just South of the Santa Monica Pier!

Parking

There are meters on the street, they are free until 9am. Please don’t add a ticket to the cost of your race. Make sure that after 9AM your meter is paid quarters, or credit cards.  Also – check the signs to make sure you are not parked on a street sweeping block. Street sweeping goes from 7am to 9am and comes with a nasty ticket. The lot at the beach, adjacent to the start/finish, is a pay lot. You can pay at the entrance booth or if no one is there, then pay the machines. The prices vary throughout the year, typically $8-12. We are not responsible for keeping up to date on any price increases that Santa Monica initiates.

Don't want to come early the day of the race? Pick up your packet Friday, September 27th between 4-6pm. Road Runner Sports is also offering a discount for our participants! Get some great gear at a good price to be all ready for your walk/fun-run.
