Welcome to the 8th Annual Bernalillo County Sugar Skull Fun Run!

Get ready to walk, jog, strut and stroll your way along the picturesque Bosque with this year’s Sugar Skull Fun Run, taking place on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022.

This year, participants can select from a timed 5K for runners, a 5k fun walk/run or a one-mile strut and stroll for strollers and pets. Whether you are walking, jogging or running your way to the finish line, we look forward to cheering you on in your Día de los Muertos attire! 

Pets are welcome for the one-mile strut and stroll.

Food trucks and the Muerto Market are open to the public.

The annual fun run benefits the Bernalillo County Quality of Life Fund.

Event details and schedule

Early bird registration by Sept. 9 will guarantee t-shirts. 

Packet pick-up on Friday, Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Sports Systems, 6915 Montgomery Blvd NE.

Race times:

  • 5k Timed Run @ 8 a.m.
  • 5K Fun Run/Walk @ 8:15 a.m.
  • Strut and Stroll One-Mile @ 8:30 a.m.
