Barangay is the native Filipino term for village, originally named after the boats ridden by ancestral Filipinos bound for neighboring islands and united by mutual goals. The Pinoy Runners Barangay Bay Area group brings together Filipinos residing in Northern California who share a passion for all things running, while experiencing our unique Filipino cultural heritage marked by camaraderie, friendship, and kinship. Pinoy athletes of all ages and abilities are welcome to join us, as we learn from each other’s running journeys, explore the Bay Area’s running trails, and achieve our fitness goals with kababayans.  What better way to enjoy running than with fellow Pinoys!

 

The Pinoy Runners Brgy. Bay Area is holding our first fun run to be held on September 10, 2022 at the Quarry Lakes Regional Park in Fremont.

Join us for a fun and picturesque 5k or 10k run. The course takes you on a gentle sloping trail flanked with California wildflowers and views of Quarry Lake, and Mission Hill. The trail consists of mixed gravel and paved road.   
Dogs: YES! 
Strollers: Yes

Opening Ceremony Starts at 7:30am
Race will start at 7:45am for 10k runners. 
5k runners starts at 8:00am
Parking is $5 per vehicle

 

please note that races will not be canceled due to rain or heat. Course trail work, closures, reroutes or construction may lead permitting agencies to require changes to the printed courses at any time prior to an event. This is out of the control of any race director, and we therefore will not offer refunds or credits in such a situation. If a race location is changed due to park closures, we will automatically transfer the registration over to the new venue; or entrants may choose to cancel their entry (non-refundable and non-transferable). Races cancelled due to inclement weather, fire or unsafe AQI will be rescheduled, or credited 50% towards a future race. Cancellation will only happen in the best interest and safety of the runners, staff and volunteers.

 

In the spirit of sharing our Pinoy culture, aid stations are stocked with special Filipino bites in addition to usual fuel and hydration options.
