Join us on Sunday, March 13, for the Sixth Annual Sri Chinmoy 5K & 7-Mile Race in Prospect Park, featuring a scenic, USATF certified loop course along Park Drive. 10 AM Start for both races.

AMENITIES:  Bag check, aid stations every mile, free race hat*, custom medals for all finishers, and a mug of Ghirardelli hot cocoa!

Sponsored by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team in cooperation with the Prospect Park Alliance and NYC Parks Dept.

Event details and schedule

THE COURSE:

A scenic loop course (a few hills), traveling counterclockwise on the pedestrian lane of the main Park Drive, through forest and meadow. Starting at the north end of the Lincoln Rd. Lawns, continuing through Battle pass, past Nellie’s Lawn, down Long Meadow, past Lookout Hill, alongside Prospect Park Lake, and finishing back at Lincoln Rd. Lawns. 5K is just shy of one complete loop. 7-Mile race is two full loops, the second loop includes a short out-and-back section on Center Drive.

AWARDS:

Separate Men’s and Women’s awards categories, for both 5K & 7-mile races:

Under 50: Top 7
50-59: Top 3
60-69: Top 2
70 and over: First place

Medals for all finishers

Awards ceremonies:
5K: 10:50 AM
7-Mile: 11:30AM

GHIRARDELLI HOT COCOA

Post-race mug of Ghirardelli hot cocoa for all runners!  (Don't worry, pancakes will be back at the 5K & Half in May, save your appetite!)

RACE HATS:

*The giveaway for this race will be a knitted winter hat, guaranteed for all participants registered by Feb 27.

We'll do our best to provide hats for those who register after the deadline, but no guarantees!

TIME LIMITS:

5K: 1 hour (20 min/mile pace)
7-Mile: 1hr, 45 min (15 min/mile pace)

AGE RESTRICTIONS:

5K: 13 & up
7-Mile: 15 & up

$35 through Mar. 11, 5PM (registration close)

No race-day registration. Entries cannot be transferred to another person.

RACE PACKETS

Choose Packet Shipping when registering ($5.95), to avoid the lines on race day and have your race hat and bib delivered to your door before the race.  Option available for US addresses only, through Mar. 2.
Otherwise, packet pickup is available at the race site from 8:45-9:45AM.

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

There are currently no COVID restrictions for outdoor events of this size in NYC Parks.  Masks are optional.  Those wishing to have a little extra space at the start can move towards the back where there is plenty of room to spread out.  Spectators are allowed.  If there are new restrictions imposed before the event, we will post them here and notify runners via email.  

DIRECTIONS:
Public transportation recommended, parking is very limited. Prospect Park is a big park with many entrances, please familiarize yourself with the map and directions on our race webpage before race day, we don’t want you to get lost!

RESULTS:
Will be posted on our race webpage within 24 hours.
