PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS RACE-DAY REGISTRATION; HOWEVER, ALL PRE-REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS MUST PICK UP THEIR EVENT PACKETS AT "PACKET PICK-UP."


If you are not able to pick up your packets in person at the above location and times, you must decide for a representative to pick up your packet. Any out-of-town participants may pick up their packet on race morning at the registration area located at Loma Colorado Park (next to Rio Rancho Aquatic Center).

Note: Kids K and 1-MILE are non-timed events.

Walk or run ANYTIME between November 18-23, 2023, and record your race time using: Strava, Garmin, MapMyRun, MapPedometer.com, or a simple stopwatch.


 


* Step 2:
Email your race completion time to [email protected]
* Include first and last name, run date, event (10K or 5K), city and state, and race completion time in the body of the email. Note: Subject line: NM Hobbler Gobbler Virtual Run Result Information
* Run/walk times must be submitted by 11:59 pm (mtn.) on November 24, 2023.

The Start is within a short distance from the finish (just west of the Rio Rancho Aquatic Center and Park. approx... .25 of a mile on Loma Colorado. in front of Rio Rancho H.S. Performing Art Center.)


Note: Race Day Registration and Timing Chip Pickup will be located at the Rio Rancho Aquatic Center. NOTE: ALL PARTICIPANTS WHO WOULD LIKE TO BE ENTERED IN THE RESULTS AND BE ELIGIBLE FOR AWARDS MUST WEAR A TIMING CHIP/BIB. ALL BIBS MUST BE PLACED ON THE FRONT OF THE PERSON AND MUST BE VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES DURING THE EVENT.


 


PARKING:


PLEASE USE DESIGNATED PARKING AREAS ONLY. DO NOT PARK ON ROADS OR PEDESTRIAN/BIKE PATHS. AVAILABLE PARKING AT RIO RANCHO AQUATIC CENTER, RIO RANCHO LIBRARY (JUST NORTHEAST OF AQUATIC CENTER), AND LOMA COLORADO PARK PARKING LOT (JUST WEST OF AQUATIC CENTER). PLEASE NOTE: THE RIO RANCHO PERFORMING ARTS CENTER HAS AVAILABLE PARKING AND IS CLOSEST TO THE START OF THE 10K AND 5K.

Note: The Rio Rancho Aquatic Center closes at 11:00 a.m. on race day. Please plan accordingly.


 


 


START INFORMATION:


Start location for the 10K and 5K is located just west of the Rio Rancho Aquatic Center and Park -- approximately .25 of a mile west... in front of the Rio Rancho H.S. Performing Arts Center. The Hobbler Gobbler Kids K starts on the south side of the Loma Colorado Park.


All races will start promptly at the designated times listed above. Allow plenty of time to get to the Start Line to seed yourself according to your projected pace time. If you are driving to the race, plan to arrive early. See parking information above.


This race is a Gun Start with a Timing Chip finish. The "official time" will start when the gun/horn goes off. NOTE: ALL RACES WILL START ON TIME, SO PLEASE BE AT THE START 10-15 MINUTES BEFORE THE START.

The start of the 10K and 5K is in front of the Rio Rancho High School Performing Arts Center located just west of Loma Colorado Park/Rio Rancho Aquatic Center.

How can I register for this event?


There are 3 ways to register:


You can register online: www.irunfit.org; the deadline for online registration is Wednesday, November 23, 2023, at 8:00 p.m.

Is it safe to register online with my credit card?


Yes, RunFit has partnered with RunSignUp.com, a leader in online registration. It is safe and secure, and they can guarantee that your information will be safe.  There is a small processing fee when registering online.

Can I fill out one form if I register with more than one person?


No, we require individual entry forms for each participant to ensure we have all the information we need for that participant.  We will NOT accept two names on one form.
What’s the age requirement to register for this race?


There is no age requirement. All participants must sign the race waiver (if under 18, by a parent/guardian).
Will you send me confirmation?


All online registrations will receive confirmation via e-mail.  For mail-in entries, please list a valid e-mail address for confirmation. For all other registrations, you may contact the office to verify your registration at 505-217-4774

What do I receive with my registration?

·       B-tag timing in the 10K and 5K runs (The NM Hobbler Gobbler Thanksgiving Day Run is        an officially timed event using the disposable B-Tag timing system. Timing chips are attached directly to the back of your bib number and are to remain adhered to for the duration of the event)
NOTE: Each participant will receive a Race (Bib) number that must be worn on the race day. DO NOT alter your race number in any way. Your bib number must be visible and worn on the front outside of all clothing during the entire race so that it may be clearly seen. Bib numbers are non-transferable, and MUST be worn by the runner to whom it is assigned.

I can no longer participate in the race (injury, scheduling conflict, etc.); what are the RunFit refund/transfer policies for the race?


All entries are non-refundable.  Once we’ve received and processed your entry, you will not receive a refund, you may not give or sell your race number to other people, and entry fees are not transferable to next year’s race or any other race.
You can transfer your entry to another person for $10.  This can be done at packet pickup before race day.  There will be no transfers on race day.
You will be directed back to this page if you call or email about a refund.
Can I still get my shirt if I cannot attend and have already registered?


·       No. Sorry.
On my registration, I misspelled my name, age; I’ve recently moved, etc.  How can I fix this?


You can self-edit your registration through Friday, November 19. Afterward, please call the office at 505-217-4774 or e-mail [email protected]
Can I defer my entry to next year if I cannot run/walk this year?


No, participants cannot defer their entries to the next year if they cannot run.
 


PACKET PICK-UP INFORMATION


If I’m pre-registered, do I need to bring identification to pick up?


 It is not required but it’s always a good idea to bring it.
Am I required to pick up my race bib and shirt at packet pick up?


·It is not required but strongly suggested so you avoid waiting in lines on race day and guaranteeing your shirt size.
Can someone else pick up my race bib and shirt?


Yes, both can be picked up by/for family and friends.  It’s always a good idea to bring your confirmation e-mail.
Can I have my packet mailed to me?


No. This option is only available for those who chose a virtual event and selected “shipping” before completing their registration.

RESULTS/AWARDS


How is this race timed?


The 10K and 5K races are officially timed events using the disposable B-tag timing system.  Timing chips are attached directly to the back of your bib number and are to remain adhered to for the event duration.
Where can I see my results?


· Results will be posted live during the race near the finish.  Results may also be found on the RunFit website: www.irunfit.org
When will the results be posted?


· The results will be posted before noon upon completion of the race

COURSE QUESTIONS


Where can I park the morning of the race?


PLEASE USE DESIGNATED PARKING AREAS ONLY. DO NOT PARK ON ROADS OR PEDESTRIAN/BIKE PATHS. AVAILABLE PARKING AT RIO RANCHO AQUATIC CENTER, RIO RANCHO LIBRARY (JUST NORTHEAST OF AQUATIC CENTER), AND LOMA COLORADO PARK PARKING LOT (JUST WEST OF AQUATIC CENTER). PLEASE NOTE: THE RIO RANCHO PERFORMING ARTS CENTER HAS AVAILABLE PARKING AND IS CLOSEST TO THE START OF THE 10K AND 5K. 
Do I have to run the race, or can I walk instead?


You may walk any of the events.  However, the police may ask you to move to the sidewalk if you do not finish the race within a certain time for the safety of everyone.
For how long will the course be open?


· The route will stay open until 11:30 am. Police, at their discretion, will move you to the sidewalk if need be.
Where are the water stop(s)?


·There will be two water stations for the 10K (Mile 2 and 4) and one water station for the 5K. (Mile 2)
Are there restrooms (portable toilets) along the course?


Restrooms are available for the 10K just after mile 3.
Am I able to bring a stroller to the race?


Yes. We ask that any baby strollers start the race at the back of the pack to not create any trip hazards for other participants when the race begins. Note: Your child must be always secured in the stroller. 
Am I able to bring my dog to the race?


·Yes. Since we are not holding the event in Loma Colorado Park, you are welcome to bring your dog. However, we ask you to keep your dog on a short leash as well as cleanup any mess he or she may cause.
Where can spectators, friends, and family watch the course?  Can they be at the start or finish areas?


All are welcome to check out the NM Hobbler Gobbler at the start (Loma Colorado Ave., just west of the finish) and finish (Loma Colorado Park). You can be at the different mile markers and water stops. Please be cognizant of traffic and the participants as they run/walk. Please listen to police/security instructions as well. We recommend staying at the finish to see your friends and/or loved one’s finish under the giant RunFit inflatable!
Can I wear headphones on the course?


Yes, you can. Please consider keeping the volume low enough to stay aware of your surroundings and any directions or announcements given audibly by race personnel, police, or other runners.
Can I run with my GPS device?


Yes, participants may wear their GPS watches/devices. However, these items do not count as "second timing devices" and will not be recognized by the event as official times or distances.
What is not allowed on the course?


For everyone's safety, baby carriers, baby backpacks, inline skates, motorized scooters, bicycles, skateboards, and animals of any kind are prohibited from the course. Note: See information about “dogs”. Strollers and baby joggers are permitted on the 5K course only. Strollers and baby joggers must start at the back of the pack, and your child must be always secured in the stroller.
 


MISCELLANEOUS


Where will restrooms be located on race morning?


Restrooms are available next to Loma Colorado Park (Finish)


Can I volunteer for the race?

Is there a bag check?


·       Yes, bag check will be located at Loma Colorado Park's registration area, which stays open from 7:30-11 am.


Does the event benefit a charity? How can I donate?


Event proceeds benefit RunFit, a nonprofit, 501 (c) 3 organization benefiting before, during, and after school running programs for children to help combat childhood obesity and build community.


Do you have a Lost and Found in case I lose something at the event or the racecourse?


Yes. We will have a Lost & Found for lost and found items on race day. If you are missing a personal item, please stop by the registration table at the event and/or call 505.217.4774.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY:


Weather forecasts will be monitored before the event paying special attention to the possibility of heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds, and extreme temperatures. If necessary, athletes will be made aware of these predictions on the RunFit website: www.irunfit.org so that participants can properly prepare for severe weather during the race and possible course alterations. Severe weather updates will also be sent to participants via email as necessary. The Race Director will monitor the weather and decide if any action will be taken to modify the race. Possible changes include altering the start time for the race or, in extreme situations, cancellation of the event. Please listen closely to all public address announcements at the race's starting line. Visible lightning will cause the race to be postponed for a minimum of 15 minutes. Additional sightings will continue to delay the race in 15-minute increments. If extreme heat is predicted, extra water will be provided to the athletes before, during, and after the event. The medical team will be alerted that athletes may require additional medical attention during and after the event due to the high temperatures.


 


MEDICAL SUPPORT:


Medical staff members will be ready to assist you at any time. Radio communications personnel will be positioned at every aid/water station along the course.


The event officials have the right to withdraw any runner from the race that appears distressed or at risk. If you have a health or medical problem at the Finish Line, you will be directed to the Medical Area near the finish. Please cooperate if you are asked to go for a checkup. If you need help at any point, please ask for it!


If you cannot finish the race for any reason, please notify a race official of your bib number so that the medical personnel is aware.


 


FINISH INFORMATION:


The overall and division award winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on race day immediately following each event.


 


10K:


Overall prizes will be awarded to the top three men and women determined by gun time.


Age group prizes will be given to the top three finishers in the following categories for men and women: 15 and under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.


Award times will be determined by gun time.


5K:


Overall prizes will be awarded to the top three men and women determined by gun time.


Age group prizes will be given to the top three finishers in the following categories for men and women:   9 and under, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59,


60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+. 


 


Award times will be determined by gun time.


 


GOBBLER CHASE KIDS K:


All registered participants (11 and under) are eligible to participate in the RunFit Kids K. RunFit Kids K will begin at 10:15 in the Loma Colorado Park just west of the Rio Rancho Aquatic Center. All participants will receive a special recognition award at the finish.


POST-RACE:


Post-race refreshments will be held at the park.
