Description

The Annual 5K Run, Night Flight is set for Friday, October 1 at 9pm at Legacy Park. 

For 40 years Night Flight has been a part of Lee's Summit. 

The run started in 1981, originally it was part of Cole Younger Days.  When part of Cole Younger Days, the Chamber of Commerce was in charge of the run.
In 1999 Lee’s Summit Hospital took over the run and Julie Johnson organized the run as part of her duties with the Hospital.

Lee's Summit Parks & Recreation is hosting a post-race party at the Legacy Park Amphitheater! Enjoy the fire pits, make smores and play outdoor games while waitng for the race results. Top 3 finishers in each catergory will win a race medal. 

The race route will begin and end at the Legacy Park Amphitheater and go through Legacy Park, the entire route is paved. Pre-registration ONLY! Fees are $25 for participants age 14+ and $20 for 13 and under when registered by September 18. After that fees increase $5. Sorry, night of registrations will not be available.
