Description

This is the 1st annual Dream 5K, in support of the Dayton Dream Center, which will be hosted at Living Word Church, a partner of the Dayton Dream Center. The Dayton Dream Center, currently under construction at 2720 E 3rd St, Dayton OH 45403, is distributing meals every Saturday on the east side of Dayton through its food truck. Once construction of the building is complete and the doors are open, the Dream Center will extend services offering basic needs (food distribution, shower & laundry services, clothing ministry), addiction & abuse support, education & training, children's programs, and spiritual growth. All proceeds from this race will benefit the Dream Center in support of the great people of our Gem City. Representatives Phil Plummer and Jena Powell will be at the event to speak about initiatives like the Dream Center along with the support of businesses, area leaders, and other nonprofits, coming together to bring about lasting change in our community!

 

Virtual: You may also choose to register for the virtual 5K which can be completed at anytime and anywhere between now and the day of the event. T-shirts will in the mail prior to September 25.

Registration: Pre-registration is $25 and includes a t-shirt. This price will continue to stay the same until September 18 when it increases to $30 and will continue until race day. T-shirts are not guaranteed on race day.

For ages 6 - 15, registration will be $15 and will still include a t-shirt. Children ages 5 and under are free to participate, however, the child's parent/guardian must also participate in the race and stay present with them throughout the event. Children ages 5 and under must still complete registration and have the parent/guardian sign a waiver on their behalf.

Packet pick-up will be at Living Word Church beginning at 8:00 a.m.

The race will start promptly at 9:00 am.

The course will begin in front of Demmitt Elementary and make its way down Brown School Road and back up to finish at Living Word Church.

Divisions: Male and Female: 9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34,35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70 & over.

Awards: Top Male/Female overall and Male/Female top three (3) finishers in each age division.

Raffle: We will also be raffling off prizes after the race! Tickets will be $2 each with prizes including Dayton Dragons Gear, a free tattoo ($200 value courtesy of Waverly Judd of Raditatto Me), a mini photography session with the award-winning photographer, Jenny Haas ($275 value), and more!

Door Prizes: In addition to the raffle, each participant that enters the race, will be entered into a drawing for door prizes!

FAQ: 

• 
  If I have a younger child or an infant who cannot walk/run the whole time, can I walk/run with a stroller?Of course! We would love for your family to participate in this event with you and understand that your younger children (especially infants) might not be able to finish the course without some assistance. We do ask that if you plan on bringing a stroller that you start behind everyone else to avoid trips/falls. Also note that you are responsible for your own items. Living Word Church and the Dayton Dream Center will not be held liable for lost or damaged items during the event.

  Can I bring my pet to walk with me?Unfortunately due to liability reasons, we will not be allowing pets during this event unless it is a service animal which will require documentation.
