D-Day is the perfect time to honor the soldiers who trained at Camp Toccoa and all veterans who jumped at Normandy on June 6, 1944. The 10K Run and Memorial Walk will take you in the footsteps of the 18,000 who trained on Currahee Mountain during WWII. Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup: Begins at 7AM

10K and Memorial Walk: Starts at 8AM

Awards: Only for the 10K. Overall Male/Female, Overall Masters Male/Female and the top three (3) finishers in each age group: 10 & Under, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70-79, 80 & older.

Timing and Results: Finish line management and results provided by Classic Race Services with results posted to www.classiconestop.com, www.classicraceservices.com, www.active.com, www.athlinks.com

Shirts and Goodies: Are guaranteed to those who register by 5/19/21.  Those who register after that date and on race day are not guaranteed a shirt or size.  A limited number will be available on race day and given on a first come first serve basis.  There will be plenty of refreshments.

Course: The course is part paved but mostly dirt roads that go to the top of Currahee Mountain.  It is a tough and hilly course.

Series Affiliation: The race is part of the 2021 Black Bag Race Series.

Proceeds: All proceeds from the events will be used for the Camp Toccoa at Currahee Project to preserve the Legacy of Leadership exemplified by the men who trained there. Thank you for supporting the event and celebrating the Greatest Generation!

More Info: In case of rain, the races will go on.  Delay of the start may happen in case of severe weather in the area at race time.  If severe weather continues, then the race director or local authorities may make the call to cancel the race at that time.  Sorry, no refunds.

COVID PRECAUTIONS: If the State of Georgia is still under COVID group restrictions on race day, the following guidelines will be followed. Race will begin in waves of 50 participants starting at 8:00 a.m. with 5 minutes between waves. Race will be chip timed. Social distancing is encouraged, and masks are required when not running.

Directions:  From Atlanta, take I-85N to 985; continue north to Toccoa/Lavonia exit (365/17); turn right onto Highway 123, go two miles and the property entrance is on the left. From Greenville, take I-85 S to Lavonia/Toccoa exit (17); turn left on the 365/17 bypass, left onto Highway 123, go two miles and the property is on the left.
