Due to the "current" CDC and the State of Texas guidelines, we have decided to make this a two day event and cap each respective race distance to avoid overcrowding the trail. As we get closer to this event we may be able to increase the capacity of runners depending on the CRC and State of Texas guidelines/restricitions at that current time.
We will practice social distancing throughout the event by “reccomending” each registered participant to wear a mask at the start of the races and dispose of the mask shortly after the start of the race when they feel the crowd has disbursed enough. We will have a trashcan approximately 100-400 meters away from the start to dispose of temporary masks. This is a chip-timed event, therefore runners should distance themselves at the start accordingly to have a social distanced and safe start. We will line up according to your pace along the trails for the start. We will start in quick waves to limit the crowding at the start line. Please help us make this a successful TEAM EFFORT.
After we reach capacity for each distance online registration will close accordingly. Therefore, we strongly recommend registering online as soon as possible.
Come join us on February 20th - 21st for the 6th Annual Panther City Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K & 5K! See old friends and make new ones. Runners and race walkers from all over the community are welcome to come out and participate in our 2021 event. Whether you are a competitive runner, mid-pack runner, jogger or walker, everyone will have a great time.

History of Fort Worth also known as Panther City: (Wikipedia)
In 1875, the Dallas Herald published an article by a former Fort Worth lawyer, Robert E. Cowart, who wrote that the decimation of Fort Worth's population, caused by the economic disaster and hard winter of 1873, had dealt a severe blow to the cattle industry. He further stated that the harm to the cattle industry, combined with the railroad stopping the laying of track 30 miles (48 km) outside of Fort Worth, had caused Fort Worth to become such a drowsy place that he saw a panther (cougar, mountain lion) asleep in the street by the courthouse. Although an intended insult, the name Panther City was enthusiastically embraced when in 1876 Fort Worth recovered economically. Many businesses and organizations continue to use Panther in their name. The Fort Worth police have a panther prominently set at the top of their badge.
All participants will receive Custom Finishers Medals. Races shirts are Technical Fabric. (NOTE: Race shirt are only guaranteed for pre-registered participants.)
