This year’s best meteor shower will be the Geminids meteor shower, peaking mid-evening December 13, through the morning of December 14. Join us at Kankakee Sands as we walk the crushed limestone paths, letting our eyes adjust to the darkness. Once we reach the center of the prairie, we will talk all things space as we watch the open, dark sky. Hopefully we’ll catch a glimpse of a meteor or ten!
Please dress for the weather as this program is entirely outdoors. Participants will hike 1-2 miles on uneven, natural terrain.
