**COVID-19 UPDATE** 13-Mar-2021

Good day! The last year has been one for the records.  We are getting thru this period and greatly appreciate all of you sticking with us as we work through the COVID-19 constraints.  We are holding positive thoughts that the worst is behind us and are making plans to hold our event in June 2021.  This event is going to be absolutely AWESOME.  We will be holding a Race Director update on 13-Mar-2021 @ 1000 on Facebook Live.  We'll provide an update on what we know, where we're going and what items we still need to clear to hold our event.  

Notable updates as of 13-Mar-2021:

• Race will be held on June 12, 2021 (Saturday) 


• Race will start in wave format, starting at 0730


• Race will be capped at 400 participants as part of the Washington State Phase 3 proclamation


• Registration will be online only and will close on June 7, 2021 (Monday) to allow for processing and setup


• Packet pickup will remain on Friday, first come, first serve basis with appropriate social distancing measures in place


• COVID-19 rules are still be evaluate for maximum number of spectators, so stay tuned for updates as we work with the Governors office

Put on your Aviators and blast some “Highway to the Danger Zone”, get ready to take off on one of the most unique running race venues in the world.
Have you ever wanted to run down an airport runway? How about one of the longest in the world? Well, the Grant County International Airport in Moses Lake, Washington will be your chance to run the 13,503 foot runway for a 5K run/walk and 10K race. This is a unique opportunity to race on the same tarmac that thousands of aircraft land and take off from each year! Want a chance to PR your 5K and 10K, this is your course! Bring your co-pilots and crew for what will be an amazing day of racing in the Inland Northwest!

This will be an officially timed event, with Overall and Age Group Division awards. Also, this is a family-friendly race, where walkers and strollers are offered the same opportunity on the 5K course. With over 350 Visual Flight Rules (VFR) days a year, weather should be excellent and comfortable. Temperatures at race start should be in the mid-50s for the early June race.

The race will benefit the Moses Lake Cross Country Team booster club, creating unique opportunities and development of local high school runners to compete at the local, state and national levels.
