Description

Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) is a big fancy word for a brain stem tumor. This is an inoperable tumor that can easily go undetected.  To help fund the research and help create the awareness, we are celebrating in conjunction with the Zombies for an 8k like no other!

Dress as your favorite zombie or just bring your brain to run this greenway 8k along the west Knox greenway starting and finishing at the Carmike Cinemas at 200 N. Peters Road.  In conjunction with the Creepy Con, you will for sure get to see some real life zombies! 

The festivities begin September 7th at 9am for he 8k and 9:15 for the walk. The route goes out on the "10 Mile Greenway" following the trail to pickup on the Jean Teague Greenway with the 2.5 mile turnaround just before Winston Rd.  

This out and back course will feature scenic woods and zombies, making for the perfect September run! 

Prizes will be awarded for Top 3 overall male and female, Top Masters Male and Female (1 deep), Top 3 Age Groups 10 and Under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+

There will also be a zombie costume contest awarded for the scariest zombie and the cutest zombie! So come dressed to scare or impress the secret judge panel!
