*NEW* For students entering grades 5 thru 7 During this week-long half-day workshop students will spend time in the shop using hand and power tools to create decorative and functional objects out of wood. Students will have extended time to develop their skills and creative ideas. We will practice wood joinery, additive and reductive sculpture techniques and a variety of surface treatments. Students will leave this class with a greater understanding of the woodshop and all the potential uses for wood tools. Students will also come home with many new creative projects like hinged boxes, portraits, block prints and mechanical sculptures! Program Instructor: Katie Palmer, Art Department Faculty **Price includes all supplies. **Space is limited and a minimum number of students is required for this workshop to run.
