Join Team Be Happy for its 2nd Annual running of the Be Happy 5K/10K/Kids 1K through the historic town of Windsor, CT!  With your participation we Hope to beat last year's donation of $10,000 to support the Smilow Cancer Center’s “Closer to Free” program which focuses on innovative cancer treatment and quality care for patients and families who have been given a devastating cancer diagnosis.

The kid's 1K will begin at 8:00 a.m., fun runners will begin at the Villages entrance and run an action packed 0.6 miles on a (safe) closed loop finishing in front of the Villages Clubhouse. This closed community will be alive with the cheers of supporters and and the Official Be Happy Cheer Squad rooting everyone on! 

The 5K and 10K races will begin promptly and concurrently at 8:30 a.m. starting with a double loop through the vibrant development at the Villages at Poquonock before turning left out onto the scenic streets of this beautiful town. All runners will follow Poquonock Ave for 0.2 miles before turning left onto Rainbow Road. The 5K runners will turn around at the intersection of Rainbow Road and High Street and head back down Rainbow to Poquonock before returning to the Villages to complete their final half loop stretch - ending with a celebration at the community clubhouse with food, drink, and music!  The 10K runners will continue through the intersection following Rainbow Road through the rolling hills before reaching the rotary and turning back down Rainbow Rd to the Villages where they will complete their final half loop stretch at the community clubhouse to celebrate with food, drink, and music!  Courses are USATF certified 5K course:CT20007JHP / 10K course:CT20006JHP

All participants running at the Villages in the 5K/10K that register before August 04, 2020 will be guaranteed our signature 2020 BE HAPPY race t-shirt.  All participants that finish the 5K/10K will get a custom BE HAPPY finisher medal after crossing the finish line, kid’s fun run runners will get a “fun run” medal after crossing the finish line. Performance race shirts and other Be Happy Swag will be available for purchase on site on race day.

These races will be chip timed with prizes awarded to the overall male and female winners as well as divisional awards for the first, second, and third male and female of each age group. (Age divisions 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+)

New this year - we will be mailing your race bibs for the 5K/10K. Anyone who registers before 08/01/2020, your bib will be mailed out on August 3rd, 2020, anyone who registers between August 2nd and August 9th your bibs will be mailed out on August 10th 2020. If you register after August 9th your bib will be available on race day at packet pickup. Bib and swag pick up and day of registration for the 5K/10K will take place between 7:00 AM and 8:15AM at the Villages at Poquonock Clubhouse. Kids fun run registration will close at 7:45 AM.
