Description

Introduction
The Falling Waters 5K Classic Race is still on for Saturday September 19, 2020!! Registration starts at 7am and the race will start at 8am sharp. Falling Waters will be holding our 3rd Annual Falling Waters 5K Classic. Come out to support the runners and walkers in one of Northwest Indiana's finest gated communities. We will be using staggered stop signs to avoid crowd and runner stacking at the start of the race. We will make sure we provide a safe socially distanced race for every runners safety. Due to the virus some of the event may be scaled back as these decisions will be made as we near the event. Also, we are unsure if the classic car show will be provided by the Winamac Old Auto club due to the virus.

All of that being said this will still be a great event and still anticipate a good turnout. The course is scenic with rolling hills and lakes for your viewing pleasure. We will still be awarding finishing medals and T-shirts for all participants.

Charity:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Proceeds will be donated to the TradeWind's Children Services. This is a great charity to help children with special needs. Last year the Falling Waters 5k classic raised $5,000.00 for this great charity.

Age Groups & Prizes
Award Ceremony to follow the event.
Age Groups: under 10, 10-15, 16-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, over 60

The top 3 male and top 3 female finishers overall will receive a Monetary Prize and Victory Medal.
1st, 2nd and 3rd for their age group will receive a Victory Medal.
All other participants will receive a commemorative medal for finishing the race.
All participants will receive a T Shirt at the time of the packet pickup before the race.  (Registration after 9/11/2019, we can not guarantee a t-shirt will be received)

After the race, prizes donated by our sponsors and will be raffled off. Winners must be present at the time of the drawing.

Fleet Feet Sports in Schererville will be using this race as their goal race for their upcoming 5K training program this summer. This training program is a great opportunity to help prepare for this race. This training program will begin on July 11th. Training runs will be at 9 am Saturday mornings and 6:15 pm Thursday afternoons. For any questions about the program you can call the store at 219-864-1000 and ask for Amanda.
