DESCRIPTION
The 10th Annual Superhero 5K/10K/1Mi will be held on February 20, 2021, at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota.

This is a Foster Care Awareness Event. In-person and virtual racing options are available.

10K rolling start from 7:20-7:30am. 5K rolling start from 9:00-9:10am. Kids' Fun Run at 8:30am.

More than just a race, the Superhero race brings together child welfare agencies and the community to highlight the 1200 youth who are in local foster care in Sarasota, Manatee, and DeSoto Counties, while providing a family-friendly event with music, a kiddie zone, food, and giveaways.

We believe that kids in foster care and those who care for them are some of our community's most incredible heroes, which is the reason we have chosen a superhero theme. So don't be shy... come dressed as your favorite hero and get ready for an awesome race and cause!

2) Friday, February 19th from 4-7pm at New Balance University INSIDE the store (NEW ADDRESS!!! 315 N Cattleman Rd, Unit #1 Sarasota 34243)
3) Race day morning, on-site at Benderson Park (Saturday, February 20th, 6:15-7:45a)

Event Schedule:
6:15-7:45a Race Day Registration and Packet Pick Up

7:20 10K starts with a rolling start from 7:20-7:30  This means you can begin any time in your race's 10 minute window.
8:20 National Anthem
8:30 Fun Run
9:00 5K starts with a rolling start from 9:00-9:10  This means you can begin any time in your race's 10 minute window.

Your bib will be chipped, giving you an official start time as soon as you cross the mat. There is no advantage to starting first and we highly discourage any bunching or jostling for position. We are counting on you to socially distance and help us create a safe race atmosphere!
It is very important that you begin the race within the 10 minute allotted window.

Awards Ceremony TBD after all runners finish. Runners who do not want to stay to claim their medals will be provided pick up options at BaL's Sarasota office.
If you don't plan to pick your packet up at New Balance UTC, plan to arrive early to make sure we can process you through in time to get you to the starting line!

The course is an out-and-back. The 10K and 5k race will begin at the southwest corner of the property.

Parking is south of starting line at the southwest end of the lake. Bridge a Life and race signage will be posted for clarity. See parking and course map in the image posted to our Facebook page (search for Bridge A Life).
