Description

The IRT 5K Run/Walk will be held on the new 1.4 mile section of trail in North Whitehall Township.  The 5K Run/Walk will be on a fine screening trail passing historical cement manufacturing buildings.  The 1.4 mile trail extension achieves the goal of the IRT Master Plan of 9.2 miles total length.  The Ironton Rail Road serviced the first high quality Iron and Portland Cement manufacturing companies in America, significantly contributing to the Industrial Revolution in the late 1800's.  Cost: $25 until 5/7; $30 after.
