Our Fit Body Team is excited to be putting on our 1st annual 5k! Please join us in making this event one to remember; Not only is this an event to bring our community together, it is an opportunity to help those in need!

Proceeds for this race will be going toward the Northeast Georgia Food Bank specifically to help fight childhood hunger. The NGFB has multiple programs that alleviate Childhood Hunger such as Food 2 Kids, Food 2 Kids 360, Food to Tots, and Mobile School Food Pantry. Hunger and food insecurity affects thousands of kids in Athens and our surrounding areas every year. Your entry helps us get one step closer toward food security. Last year, we were able to raise $2,200 and hope to make an even bigger difference this year!

We would be honored for you to join us in our mission to help bring food security to children and fight against hunger! 

This event is open to everyone in the community- runners, walkers, and even your fur-babies! The park is dog friendly, just be sure to keep them on a leash when they are with you. Sandy Creek is also stroller assecible and is geared to making it fun event and bonding experience for anyone of all abilities! We will have an award ceremony after the race, we hope you can all stay and celebrate with us.

We are excited to come together to help support such an amazing cause. It’s going to be so much fun and we can’t wait to make many memories with all of you!

Event details and schedule

Where: Sandy Creek Park (400 Bob Holman Rd, Athens, GA 30607)

When: Saturday, November 12th, 2022

Packet pick-up starts 8:30am

Race start time: 9:00am

Award Ceremony: 10:15am

The race will begin at Pavilion 1. When you pull into the park, let the assistants at the entrance know that you are with the Fit Body 5K and they will direct you on where to park. Course info will be coming soon. Check this website closer to the event to see the course and any updated information!

Your race registration includes the $2 entry fee to the park. When you arrive, you will drive around to Pavilion 1 and you can park in any of the 4 lots that surround that area!

You can bring a friend to the race, the day of, and they will be able to register at our check-in table near Pavilion 1 and sign a waiver. 

Anyone wanting a t-shirt must sign up online on or before Monday Oct. 31st to secure there merch. Registrations November 1st - 9th can still sign up online but no shirt will be offered. Any extras that we have will be sold at a first come, first serve basis.
