Volunteer info: Come enjoy three hours of open sports, snacks, and games. Volunteers must be able/willing to play, assist, and socialize with all participants with ASD. Volunteers will be required to engage participants in the sporting activities and assist staff with duties needed to keep campers safe and distanced. Volunteers must be 13 or older. You are invited to come to play basketball, tag, dodgeball, compete in scooter relays, and more! This program is designed for participants of all ages and will be staffed on a 1:5 ratio. Volunteers are encouraged to bring a snack and/or a bagged dinner and a water bottle. A tentative schedule is as follows: 6-6:45 PM Dinner/Snack 6:45-8:15 PM Sport Rotations with individual equipment 8:15-9:00 PM Free Play (with individual equipment) and/or Movie Where: Heritage United Methodist Church 815 Baker Road Virginia Beach, VA 23462 When: Saturday, September to December Why: To allow a safe place for children of all ages with ASD a place to stay and participate in sporting activities while parents/ caregivers have a couple of hours to themselves. ​Please follow us on Facebook for program updates and notifications.
