In 2004, a member of our community named Quentin Ingram died of leukemia, a form of blood cancer common in many children. After his death, his family formed an annual toy drive during the winter holiday season that continues today. This toy drive gives children in Johns Hopkins Pediatrics unit toys and games to brighten their spirits in times of such overbearing grief. We realized we could do more to help this great tradition of giving, so the SGA created the Quentin Ingram Egg Nog Jog.
Registration cost to participants is $25. All proceeds will be used to supplement donations to the pediatric center as well as to make a donation to the local chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, to help fund research of blood diseases to prevent another death like Quentin’s. All race participants will receive a 2022 Egg Nog Jog shirt and custom race bib. Any additional donations made with your registration will be used to purchase toys for the Pediatric Oncology Unit at Johns Hopkins.
For 2022 we will continue our traditional in-person event on the campus of Linganore High School! We are excited to celebrate with everyone gathered together for the fun. We will again offer the virtual challenge option like we had in 2021. The challenge will be to log as many miles as you can during the challenge window (December 1-17). Walk, run, bike- do what you can to get moving and celebrate life.
