Starts at Allatoona Dam

Finishes at Gatewood Park 

8:00am  --  Best Dam 5K

9:00am  --  Best Little 1 Mile

9:10am  --  Cutest Ever Tot Trot  (Ages 6 & Under)

9:15am -- Awards Presentation

Bartow County Parks & Recreation is excited to have you join us November 7th for our inaugural 5K.  Enjoy the race surrounded by tall trees, lake vistas and camping areas, all while seeing what Lake Allatoona and Gatewood Park each have to offer. It's certainly a beautiful view for running, but come back or stick around and make a day of it.  Bring a picnic lunch down by the lake water and make this most of it!

"Best DAM 5K" Course

• This unique and scenic course is a one-of-a-kind...it is a point-to-point route...The 5K begins at the Lake Allatoona Dam,** but it ends at Gatewood Park.  It starts at the lake-level and finishes at lake-level, but it does have a dam hill or two in between.  The last 1.2mi. is either flat or downhill.  

**PARTICIPANTS WILL NEED TO PARK ALL VEHICLES AT GATEWOOD PARK.

PARTICIPANTS WILL THEN BE SHUTTLED TO THE DAM START for the 5K RACE.

 

"Best Little 1 Mile" Course

• The 1 Mile run will begin-and-end at Gatewood Park.  It is an out-and-back course.  Runners will begin  by doing a 1/4 mi. loop around the grassy field at Gatewood Park, then go out-and-back, finishing in Gatewood Park around the grassy field loop again.  It is a GREAT SPECTATOR course!!

 

"Cutest Ever Tot Trot" Course

• The Tot Trot will be entirely in Gatewood Park.  This highly-entertaining trot is suited for kids 6 & Under.  Kids may choose to run 100m. to the finish line...or 200m. to the finish....or 400m.  There will be three different cones at the various distances and all three races will begin at the same time!  Parents and/or Guardians are welcome to run alongside their adorable little munchkin.  Always a crowd-favorite, this race 

PRE-REGISTATION PACKET PICK UP

• Will be held Saturday, November 6th from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM at the new Big Peach Running. Co - Cartersville Store!  Located at 402 E. Church St., Cartersville, GA 30121.

   RACE DAY REGISTRATION

• For those who wish to sign up the morning of the race, Saturday, Race Registration will be from 7:00am-7:45am.  The cost is $35 on Race Day.

Please remember: We will do our best; however, Race S.W.A.G. (Stuff We All Get) is not guaranteed for those who register on race day, so pre-register early. 

   

PROFESSIONAL TIMING

   This race will be professionally-timed by Wire2Wire Running, LLC and the Dam Results will be posted here after the conclusion of the race:

RACE BIBS

   Bibs must be worn on the front of your body and remain unfolded for proper timing and be visible at the finish.  Please do not wear them on your back or leg, as they become harder to detect.  Remember, the finish line mats must 'see' your Bib # to electronically detect.

5K AWARDS

   Awards will be presented to the Overall 5K Winners, Male & Female, as well as the Overall 5K Masters Winners, Male & Female.

   Age group medals for the 5K will be given to 1st and 2nd place finishers in the following age categories:

   14& Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70& Over

 

1 Mile AWARDS

   Awards for the 1 Mile run will be given out in the chute.  The top 3 boys and the top 3 girls will each receive a medal.

   Gatewood Park: 224 Bartow Beach Rd, Cartersville, GA 30120

PLEASE NOTE: Putting this address in Google Maps will get you to Bartow Beach Road; however, you must continue another mile to get to Gatewood Park.  Just follow the signs to the park.  If you're going towards Bartow Beach, you're going the correct way!

 

REFUNDS

   We do not offer refunds for races.  With supporting documentation and under extreme circumstances you may contact BCRD at 770-387-5149 to see if a deferral is possible.

 

WEATHER

   In the event of inclement weather…There are no “rain dates” for this Bartow County event. If the weather conditions are hazardous, Race Management has the right to change, eliminate parts of the course, or delay up to a point. However, if it is deemed too dangerous to race, the event will be canceled and there will be no refunds. Of course, since we are athletes ourselves, we will do everything in our power to have the event, but your safety is of our utmost concern.
