The Freedom Fighter's 5K is back by popular demand! The race is a salute to our most honored infantry soldiers. Come support our local heros!

Get in your camo gear and come out for a 5K run through historic Castroville, Texas. Race starts and ends at Regional Park. For those who like a real test of ability, register for the the weighted run and participate with tactical gear, a weighted vest, or pack. 

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers. Weighted participants will recieve a special commemorative medal (*must be registered by January 8th). 

Must be registered by January 18th to be guaranteed a t-shirt. 

Registration is limited to 150 participants... sign up EARLY!

Packet pick up will begin @ 8:20 AM. There is plenty of room for parking. Race starts @ 9AM. Social distancing will be observed

This is a rain or shine event- pray for good weather!

Castroville Regional Park is a great place for camping and has many RV and camping spots availabe. Many participants camped and walked a few steps over for the race in the morning. Check out the city of Castorville website for reservation details. https://castrovilletx.gov/2348/RV-Park

 

Due to ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic concerns Run Local events will adhere to the following guidelines;

Observe social distancing guide lines (6 ft) before and after the event. Participants must wear face coverings over nose and mouth if the 6’ guideline cannot be maintained – not including during the actual race

Wash your hands- Hand sanitizer will be provided.

Race start will be staggered in groups.

Individual water bottles will be available after the event.

There will not be an awards ceremony. Winners will be announced online.

Please do not attend if you are sick or have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19. You may switch to a virtual runner at no cost.
