About This Event:

“The Al-Van’s Virtual Firecracker Furry 5K and 1 Mile Paws on Parade is a fundraiser for the Al-Van Humane Society, a no-kill animal shelter, located in South Haven Michigan. Participants can run/walk in their own neighborhood, on a treadmill, or on the Firecracker Furry 5K race course in South Haven.  You will have between Saturday June 27th and Sunday July 12th to complete your 5K.  Once you have completed the 5K, you will send in your time to the Runsignup website.

You can pick up your 2020 Firecracker Furry 5K t-shirts and finisher’s medals (while supplies last) at the Al-Van Humane Society shelter, 07591 Blue Star Highway, South Haven, once you have completed your 5K run or walk.

Virtual Race Information:

IMPORTANT - Participants will receive email and txt messages with instructions about the VIRTUAL RACE process.  These messages will come during the VIRTUAL RACE PERIOD OF TIME.  

How a VIRTUAL RACE works:

1)     Register for the event you want to do. (Perform your event at home, your neighborhood streets, local park/trail, even a treadmill).

2)     Registrants will receive emails/txt’s to remind them to complete their specific event.  This will be sent approximately 1 week before the official event date.

3)     Registrants will also receive email/txt’s to remind them to post their results to RunSignUp after completing their Virtual Race.  INSTRUCTIONS FOR PARTICIPANTS TO POST THEIR RESULTS WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE EMAIL/TXT.

4)     Posting results can also be accessed by going to the RunSignUp results page.  Find the link “BUTTON” at the top of the results page for posting Virtual Results

Event Fees:

“Paws on Parade 1 Mile Virtual Walk"

• $20.00 (includes pet bandanna). 


• Participants not wanting a Tee Shirt will receive a $7.00 discount from regular race fees.


• Shipping option - your Tee Shirt and Medal can be shipped for an additional $7.50 (Select during registration)


• Optional Packet Pickup - no charge


• You can pick up your 2020 Firecracker Furry 5K t-shirts and finisher’s medals (while supplies last) at the Al-Van Humane Society shelter, 07591 Blue Star Highway, South Haven, once you have completed your 5K run or walk.

5K Virtual Run/Walk

• Early registration until June 27th, $25.00 (includes race t-shirt).


• Participants not wanting a Tee Shirt will receive a $7.00 discount from regular race fees.


• T-shirts are only guaranteed through June 27th. 


• Shipping option - your Tee Shirt and Medal can be shipped for an additional $7.50 (Select during registration)
