We regret to inform you that we have made the difficult decision to postpone the April 26, 2020 Rochester River Run due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 virus. The health and safety of our transplant patients and event participants is our top priority. At this time, we are looking to tentatively reschedule the event for Sunday, October 18th. More information will be shared in the upcoming weeks as we work out all of the details.
If you have already registered for the race RunSignUp is working on a self-management option for participants to opt in/out of the rescheduled race. Once this option is available an automated email will be sent out.
We understand the dedication and effort you all have put in to attending and supporting this important event for our patients and their families, and truly thank you for being there and bearing with us as we navigate this public health concern.
Thank you for your support of the Rochester River Run, and our patients and their families.
The 2020 Rochester River Run Committee
The River Run/Walk 5K is an annual event sponsored by the Friends of Strong Memorial Hospital and the hospital’s transplant units. All proceeds directly benefit transplant patients and Friends of Strong patient fund.
Transplant recipients who come to Strong for heart, liver, pancreas, or kidney transplant often need financial assistance while they await surgery and afterwards. In addition to costly medical treatment, the need to travel – for some a great distance – adds financial strain on patients and their families. Your support will help the hundreds of patients currently awaiting transplants, as well as those who continue to receive follow-up care from Strong.
