After careful consideration, the Avon Volunteer First Aid Squad has decided that the 2020 Avon 5K will not be held on the rescheduled date. The race is cancelled for this year.
We understand and share the disappointment that many may feel about the cancellation of the 2020 run. However, due to the uncertainty of the current global health crisis, we have determined that the large gathering of people that results from our run would not be in the best interests of the runners or our many race volunteers, without whom we could not host this event each year.
We ask for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing all of you next year, at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021.
1. What are my options? You can request a refund (See FAQ #2) or you can allow your registration to be automatically deferred to next year (See FAQ #3).
2. Can I get a refund? Yes, but you must request it by July 31. If you registered through RunSignUp, you can request a refund on this website. Click "More" on the race's homepage. If you registered by mail, please email [email protected] by July 31 and the First Aid Squad will send a refund by check, to the address on your race entry.
3. Can I defer my registration to next year? Yes. If you do not request a refund by July 31, then your registration will automatically be carried over to the 2021 run. No action is needed on your part to defer till next year. This is true whether you registered through RunSignUp or registered by mail.
