Same-day registration prices for the events are as follows: 5K Run/Walk: $30, 1 mile Run/Walk: $15, 1K Family Fun Run/Walk: $15. Packet Pick Up
Participants are encouraged to pick up their packets (race bib, goody bag, and race t-shirt) on Friday, October 15, 4-8 PM at the Driskell Park Recreation Building. Packet pickup will also be available the day of the race, 7:30-9 AM at Driskell Park. Please wear a mask!
A note about race shirts: Due to both a late surge in registration and Covid-19 supply chain interruptions, we may not have the size shirt you requested at packet pick up. Several registrants have mentioned that they would prefer to not pick up a shirt. If you do not want a shirt, please feel free to let the volunteers know at packet pick up. If you would like a shirt, and your size is not available, please leave your name, size, and mailing address with the volunteers at packet pick up and we will deliver or mail it to you later this fall at no additional fee. We thank you in advance for your understanding!!
The annual Hyattsville Zombie Run is back in person and will be held in Driskell Park on October 16th! This fun, family-friendly event includes three races: a 1K Family Fun Run, a 1 Mile Kids Run, and a USATF certified 5K, all of which raise funds for our neighborhood schools! The Hyattsville Zombie Run is organized by the Hyattsville Elementary School PTA. Your donation will help purchase art supplies, instruments, teacher appreciation efforts, school beautification, classroom supplies, and more.
Health and Safety (COVID-19)
Please note that we will continue to follow all city, county, state and federal public health guidance. We continue to recommend wearing a mask inside and when you can’t social distance, and get vaccinated if you haven’t already! On race day, we will require masks at the Start and Finish Line and wherever you can’t social distance. We will have extra masks available if needed. Please remember that bibs are chipped, and your time starts as soon as you cross the start line. Therefore, there is no need to crowd around the start line. There will be signage at the start and finish line reminding everyone to social distance.
There is also a virtual option! The registration process is the same for either option, so you don’t have to decide in advance if you’d rather run in person or on your own. Register for the race, pick up your t-shirt, dog tag and run! You can run anywhere, anytime between October 16 and October 23! After your run, report your time here.
Parking is available at the Prince George’s County Courthouse building at 4990 Rhode Island Avenue. The entrance to the garage is on 43rd Avenue, across from Streetcar 82 Brewing Company. The City of Hyattsville is providing a free shuttle bus from the garage to the park—just look for the City Bus at the entrance to the garage. Car-pooling with your runner or walker friends is another great option!
This race starting line is a 20 minute walk from the West Hyattsville metro on the Green Line. Leave the station and walk SOUTH on Hamilton St. and travel 1.1 miles. Turn Right into Driskell Park and follow the signs to the registration/packet pick-up tables.
