History of
Welsh Prairie Livewires 4-H & Shamrock Shuffle 5K

For over 87 years, the Welsh Prairie Livewires (WPL) have been providing a variety of educational and volunteer opportunities for its 4-H families and members.

The Shamrock Shuffle 5K Run/Walk was started in 2013 as a fundraising supper and race held at the Cambria Fire Station.

In March 2016, the event became the signature fundraiser for the Welsh Prairie Livewires 4-H Club Shamrock Shuffle Scholarship Awards given to qualifying graduating 4-H members.

Likewise, a portion of the funds are ear marked for the club’s working budget which includes camps, trips, recreational activities, awards and more!

Each year charity recipients are chosen to receive the remaining funds.  Since its inception the Shamrock Shuffle has raised thousands of dollars for charity.

The success of this FUNdraiser is made possible by the collective community effort of the generous sponsors and 4-H club families. This combined commitment is what makes Welsh Prairie Livewires such an outstanding and dedicated 4-H club.
