Description

The Vac & Dash Moonlight Series is one of the best in the region.  You can run a race and watch a movie afterwards.  Also, your family and support crew can watch a movie when you are running. 

 

Sunday's Movies : Screen A  Shang Chi  & Free Guy  Screen B Candyman and Don't Breathe 2

Your entry fee incudes entry to the drive-in.  If you have family or friends that are not running and watching the movie, they would need a movie ticket.

 

Bling - Bling and More Bling - Age group awards for the 5K - Age Group and Finisher Medals for the 10-miler.  Double Feature Runners get 10-miler finisher medals and Double Feature Ceramic Finisher Tiles  and Medals to the Top Five Male and Female runners.

In the past, many runners have gone home with four to six medals.

Run a Race - Watch A Movie  - 

Run a race & watch a movie at one of the most unique night running events in the South. The 10th Annual Vac & Dash Moonlight 5K, 10-Miler, Double Feature 1/2 Marathon & Movie starts and finishes at the Badin Road Drive-In in Albemarle, NC.  Movies to be announced. This is a chip timed event. 

Entry fee includes watching a movie.  If you have family or friends watching the movie, the admission fee is Under 5 - Free, 6-11 $5.00 12 plus - $7.00   

 The Badin Road Drive-In is a great venue to host a race.  Indoors rest rooms and concession stand.

Vac & Dash Moonlight 5K 

Starts at 6:30 pm.  Registrations will be limited to 125 participants.

Awards - Top Three Male and Female - Top Three Male and Female in the following age groups - 1-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 +

Participants get a long sleeve soft cotton t-shirt.

The run will be held on Sunday evening, September 5th.  It is the Sunday night before Labor Day. Come on out and get your race in.  Enjoy a movie afterwards. 

Moonlight 5K Course.

Vac & Dash Moonlight 10-Miler

The start time for the 10-miler will be 7:30 pm.  Race is capped at 125 participants.  

This year the start will be on the street behind the drive-in. The start/finish will be in the same spot. 

Results for the 10-miler will be based on gun time.  Top Three Overall - Male and Female.  Age Groups 1-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 plus.  Finishers get a finishers award.

Participants get a soft long sleeve cotton t-shirt.

The Course is a down and back route.  Part of the route is held in Morrow Mountain State Park.  Course Map

Also, this is a great event to bring your support crew to, as they can watch a movie while you are running the 10-Miler.

Double Feature 1/2 Marathon

By running both races you will be in the Double Feature Half-Marathon  (3.1 + 10 = 13.1 miles).  The Double Feature 1/2 Marathon is entry into both the 5K & 10-mile run.  Your times will be combined for your half-marathon time.   5K Starts at 6:30 pm.  Once you finish the 5K, you can rest a bit and prepare for the 10-Miler.  The 10-Miler starts at 7:30 pm.  Make sure to wear reflective lights and clothing.

Awards to Top Three Males and Females.  Double Feature Finisher Awards to all finishers.  (You will also get a 10-Miler Finish Award.)

All participants will get a Long Sleeved Hooded T-shirt.

Participation in the Double Feature 1/2 Marathon is limited to 100 participants.

Note: You are guaranteed a shirt if you register by 8/31.  

Packet Pick-up

Packet Pickup will be held  Wednesday September 1 - Thursday September 2 and Friday September 3 at Vac & Dash from 11-5:30 on Saturday September 4 from 9:30-2:00

Race Day Registration and Packet Pick-up will be held on Sunday September 6th at the Badin Road Drive-In beginning at 5:00 pm.

United Way of Stanly County

Donations are being accepted to benefit the United Way of Stanly County.  Donate $15.00 and receive a Moonlight Koozie.  Donate $25.00 and receive a Moonlight Hat.
