On December 1st, 2014, Capt. William H. “Pyro” DuBois lost his life in the Middle East while flying in support of Operation Inherent Resolve when his F-16 crashed in the desert after making sure his wingman landed safely. Pyro was an extremely decorated and respected pilot in the Air Force, being accepted into ENJJPT (Euro NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training), as well as receiving two Top Gun awards. Since his passing, every year we use this 5k to raise money for the Pyro Wings Foundation and 100% of the proceeds go to providing pilot training to those interested in following in Pyro’s footsteps. Students selected for a scholarship will receive fully funded pilot training to achieve a private pilot license.
