Our Story

Too Legit is a diverse, community-rooted run and fitness collective united by a shared belief that movement is for everyone. Founded by Bertrand “Coach B” Newson, Too Legit Fitness was created as a safe, inclusive space to share a love of running guided by the idea that there is a space for any pace. That philosophy extends across the entire team.

Many members of Too Legit have carried these values beyond training, going on to build and support service-driven initiatives that strengthen the local running ecosystem. Too Legit has also partnered with Run Local, another SF Bay Area based organization which operates on the belief that movement builds community by designing races and experiences that celebrate local culture and create healthier, more connected lives.

Together, our athletes, spanning ages 24 to 62, and a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels, including seasoned marathoners share a commitment to service over self. Running is our common language, but community is the outcome.

In 2026, we will participate in The Speed Project (TSP) an unsanctioned, non-competitive endurance relay from Los Angeles to Las Vegas (~340 miles), completed nonstop over approximately 36 hours.
