Kiawah Island Marathon

The Kiawah Island Marathon is the 48th annual edition of a prestigious coastal running event held in December at the luxury Kiawah Island Golf Resort near Charleston, South Carolina. The race features marathon (26.2 miles) and half marathon (13.1 miles) distances, both USATF-certified (Marathon: USATF#SC21005JK, Half Marathon: USATF#SC21006JK) and sanctioned by USA Track & Field. The scenic course showcases spectacular maritime forests, marshes, and grand homes as runners traverse the island community, starting and finishing at the West Beach Conference Center near Kiawah Beach Drive. Both distances qualify for the Boston Marathon, attracting serious runners seeking a certified qualifier-friendly course. Age groups span from 14 years old (half marathon) through 75+ (full marathon), with 11 age categories for competitive racing. The event includes a finish line celebration with food, beer, and entertainment. Limited capacity maintains an intimate race experience. A complimentary shuttle serves off-island participants.
