About This Race

The Grand Prairie Turkey Trot 5K is a family friendly Thanksgiving event at Mike Lewis Park in Grand Prairie, Texas, now in its 5th year. The flat, timed course offers in-person and virtual options, plus a Lil' Gobbler 1K Fun Run for ages 5 to 12. Registration includes a T-shirt and finisher's medal. The race benefits Grand Prairie United Charities Food Pantry through non-perishable food donations.

Youth 1-Mile Run/Walk (Ages 5–12)The Youth 1-Mile is the perfect way for kids to join the Thanksgiving fun! Designed for young runners and walkers ages 5–12, this course is safe, easy to follow, and full of encouragement along the way. Whether your child is racing for a personal best, jogging with a friend, or enjoying their first official race—this 1-mile event is all about movement, confidence, and fun. Parents are welcome to run or walk alongside their child. What Youth Participants Receive: Race bib (untimed) Finisher award (not medal) Snacks at the finish line Access to the post-race festivities Give your kids a healthy, active start to Thanksgiving morning!
