About This Race

The Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon is billed as America's toughest road race, with more elevation change than any other road race in the country, set in Virginia's Blue Ridge near Roanoke. The course is matched only by the scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the local hospitality. The event weekend includes a half marathon, 10K, double marathon, team relay, a 1-miler, and a music festival at the finish line. The community-operated race donates over $10,000 to local charities each year.

MARATHON COURSE DESCRIPTION & MAPS: Full Marathon is limited to 750 runners Total Elevation Gain/Loss=7,430 ft 7.5 hour cut-off time AND a 6 hour cut-off time at mile 22. If runners do not maintain a 16:20 min/mile pace then course marshals reserve the right to pull you from the course for your safety.
