Doggy Dash 5K

In honor of Anders Elmblad, we are proud to host the 3rd Annual Doggy Dash 5K.

Anders passed away in 2024 at the age of 25 after a courageous battle with glioblastoma. During his time at Michigan Medicine, the therapy dogs brought him comfort, companionship, and moments of joy. To honor Anders’ life and continue his legacy, we are raising funds to sponsor a new therapy dog at Michigan Medicine through the Paws4Patients program. All proceeds from this event will directly support that mission.

This year’s race features chipped timing, but participants of all ages, paces, and abilities are welcome—whether you choose to walk, jog, or run. Strollers, children, and of course, furry friends are encouraged to join the fun!

We are grateful to Ann Arbor T-Shirt Company for once again generously donating the first 100 event t-shirts. After those are claimed, 50% of all t-shirt sales will continue to benefit Paws4Patients, and the online store will remain open well beyond race day. In addition, Lara Elmblad has created custom dog bandanas and dog stuffed animals which will be available for purchase during registration and on race day. Pre-order online sales for t-shirts, bandanas, and dog stuffed animals will close on Friday, September 11th.

Water and bananas will be available along the course. After the race, participants can enjoy baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, and dog treats available for purchase, with proceeds supporting the fundraiser.

Please note: Hudson Mills Metropark charges a $10 vehicle entry fee unless you have a Metroparks annual pass.
