Cancer Sucks 5K Walk/Run

The Cancer Sucks 5K begins and ends at Etowah River Park in Canton, GA at 2:00pm. The entire course is on the beautiful greenway along the Etowah River. Runners and Walkers start together at 2:00pm. Our 5K runners will receive a Runner's BIB with timing chip and will be able to view their results on RunSignup. All runners registered before October 10th will receive a free race t-shirt.  Our 5K walkers will receive a race BIB but are not timed, and results will not be available. If you would prefer to have a timed race please feel free to register as a runner, but walk. All walkers registered before October 17th at 12:00pm will receive a free race t-shirt.  The Cancer Sucks 5K is Powered by The Shelley Foundation: The Shelley Foundation was founded in response to the shocking news of Shelley William's stage four colon cancer diagnosis in February 2022. Despite initial prognoses giving her only three months to live, Shelley persevered for over two years, demonstrating incredible strength and resilience. Inspired by her journey, we established this foundation to channel our energies into raising funds and providing support for individuals and families navigating the hardships of cancer. Through our collective efforts, we aim to bring hope, resources, and community to those who need it most, standing together in the fight against cancer.
