Bill Bruno ALUMNI CROSS COUNTRY RUN

 We invite you to join us for the 8th Annual Alumni Cross Country Race at Holmdel Park on Saturday, November 14, 2026. Hosted by the Shore A.C., this race honors the late Bill Bruno, who was always a champion for our sport as a coach, Athletic Director, and Assistant Director of the NJSIAA.

This year's event will include the traditional 5K race for men and women at 8:30 AM, with team and individual competition (see below). For younger athletes or those just looking for a shorter race, we will also offer a 3K at 9:00 AM. Holmdel Park offers a beautiful and famous cross-country course. Whether you enter independently or as part of a team, we encourage you to enjoy the challenge!

There will be three team competition* categories in the 5K: 

1) High school/college teams and their alumni;

2) Club and open fun teams: club, family, friends, business, or another category you choose.

3) Co-ed teams (must include one finisher of each gender).

Again this year, we will have team competition in the 3K. Teams in the 3K can be of any kind: school, club, or other.

In the 5K, we will award the top 3 teams in each of the 3 categories and the biggest overall team.

In the 3K, we will award prizes to 1) the top finishing team and 2) the biggest overall team.

   * Scoring is based on each team's top three runners. The top three score, while the fourth and fifth runners can displace other teams.

Parking IS available on-site as this is prior to the NJ High School Meet of Champions races at 11 AM and Noon.

REGISTRATION

Early Bird Discount! $20 for the 5K and $12 for the 3K from July 23-25!

$22 for the 5K and $14 for the 3K from July 26 until October 10;

$26 for the 5K and $17 for the 3K from October 11 to November 13 at 6:59 PM;

$30 for the 5K and $20 for the 3K - EVENT DAY RATE (from 11/13 at 7:00 PM through Saturday AM - IF space is available)

—The first 150 entrants will receive a unique Bill Bruno Alumni Run mug.

Custom awards will be presented on the finish field soon after the finish of each race.

RACE INFORMATION

The race is open to all entrants, though we suggest the 3K for all elementary and middle school ages youth,

and the 5K for everyone in high school or older. 

Athletes can compete unattached or as part of a team.

If running for a team, make sure you select "join a team" during registration.

You do NOT need to be a NJ alumni to participate. The race is open to all ages and abilities.

You can register as a club member/team member (join an existing team or create your own) or run unattached. 

REGISTRATION &TEAM SCORING

All athletes must pre-register for the event via RunSignUp. The entry fee is $22 (5K) or $14 (3K) per person from now until October 10, and $26 (5K) or $17 (3K) from October 11 to November 10. 

Limited event day registration MAY BE available at 7:15 AM on race day for $30 (5K) or $20 (3K) per person IF the race is not sold out.

Scoring in each race will be based on each team’s TOP 3 FINISHERS. Individuals who are not on a team will be excluded from the scoring. A school or team’s 4th and 5th runner can displace those from other teams.

Chip timed and live results with Viper Timing

Custom awards will be presented on-site to the top 3 female and male overall finishers; the top 3 female and male masters (40+) finishers; the top 3 female and male teams in each of 3 categories in the 5K; the top overall team in the 3K; and the biggest overall team in the 3K/5K. Awards will be presented NEAR THE FINISH LINE after all finishers are in.

PARKING

Parking WILL be available on site in the first lot to your left - between the pavilion and the farm. There is another parking lot if you take the second left on the way up the start hill near the playground, and more parking at the top of the start hill. 

Proceeds raised from this event will benefit The Shore Athletic Club, which is a 501c3 non-profit organization with a mission to develop youth and teen track and field and long distance runners, activate the human spirit through competitive events for all ages and class plus promote cross country, track and field and long distance running as lifetime sports.
