About This Race

Beat the Heat Maryland is an indoor 5K run that takes place entirely inside Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover, MD. The event offers an Elite Runners wave, a standard Indoor 5K, and a family-friendly Fun Run/Walk with a shorter distance for kids and new runners. The 5K course is four laps around the mall, completed before the mall opens. All finishers receive a medal and a t-shirt, and post-race activities include fitness demos, recovery stretches, and training tips.

Hydration Support

This is a cupless race; water will not be handed out. Dozens of water fountains are on site. Participants may carry their own sealed water container.

Bib, swag, and shirts will be available on Saturday, August 8th, at Under Armour. If you cannot attend pick-up on Saturday, please email for other accommodation.

Elite Runners: Indoor 5K Course Sub 7:30 Minute Pace Or Less 5K
Elite Runners- you will have an open course between 8:05 and 8:30. We will be lining up runners on the course for the main event starting shortly after 8:32. If you cannot finish under 24 minutes, this event may not be the correct course for you. This is still a fun and social run. Please note that four laps around the mall will be approximately 5.1k or 3.2 miles.
